RIVER FULL-A-BLUES

Well I guess I’d better tell ya'
all you have is all you'll lose
if you wade on in
to the River Full-A-Blues.

If you're a-chock-a-full-a-trouble
out scorching starry nights
or goin' nowhere with a-nuthin'
like some moth at the uptown lights.
Hmm. Are you a moth at the uptown lights - Baby?

Come to the voice you know
the voice in the undertow
to the Keeper of the River
oh my River Full-A-Blues.
‘Cuz when I'm wanting you
there ain't no stalling you
just dive on in (you don't get to choose)
If you're a- living, or a-dying
in my River, Full-A-Blues
in my River, oh my River
my River Full-A-Blues

Come pour your troubles
through the hole in my guitar
where sadness pools behind these
six long thin scars

They slice into my flesh.
They cut into my bones
until a wailing song bleeds along
or a note cries out alone
Cry out. Cry out when you
are deep in
to my River Full-A-Blues

Come to the voice you know
the voice in the undertow
to the Keeper of the River
oh my River Full-A-Blues.
‘Cuz when I'm wanting you
there ain't no stalling you
just dive on in (you don't get to choose)
If you're a- living, or a-dying
in my River, Full-A-Blues
in my River, oh my River
my River Full-A-Blues

Cry out. I will hear you
Cry out. I will take you in
Cry out. When you are down deep
in my River Full-A-Blues

Just cry out.
