BLACK & WHITE MEMORIES

I
focused in on her
glinting silver bracelet
tiny crests of Europe
displayed on her wrist. I could
see from the corner
her sitting with
head on arms, arms on knees
the cobblestone surrounding
Mechanics and emulsions
caught the very moment
her hallowed clans of Europe
fell to this famous street
CHORUS:
I hold on to time
I hold on to time
Years, have all come and gone
glancing around. Carving
notes into song. So if
I’m found among dust and debris
will you also retrieve
my Black and White Memories
It
looks strange from the sidewalk
so many pictures
taped to my walls where
they fall every week
oh
but back in this song
there’s a dog at the shelter
barking on for hours
she knows the end is near
So I open up my window
I join her for the chorus
I snap another close up
of fingers on cold glass
CHORUS
