TRUST THESE WORDS

I will not look away
I will not allow any of these memories to fade.
My eyes are open wide
So I can take this all in, store it deep inside.
And on some distant night
I’ll revive my tired eyes by recalling this sight.
If I was
an artist I would draw
All these visions in my mind
I’d have a document: Colours on canvas.
If I was a dancer I would move
So a thousand eyes would see
They’d experience these
... grand emotions.
But I don’t dance and I can’t draw
I’m not like, that at all
So you’ll just have to trust
You’ll just have to trust these words.
Just have to trust these words
All that I can offer up are words
Trust these words (x3)
I don’t long for a paradise.
I realize that life is rarely fair and seldom nice.
Yet in every single day
There comes one moment that can clear the grit away.
So I keep these moments true
I savor them
‘till my living days are through.
CHORUS
If I was
a dancer I would move
If I was an artist I would draw
If I could do anything, any thing at all
I'd get you to
Trust theses words
Come on and trust these words
Come on and trust these words
All that I can offer up are words
